Mentors participate in the Ctrl Shift Tech Accelerator, an 8-week, in-person program designed to introduce students to technology, artificial intelligence, and real-world problem solving.

Students work in small teams throughout the program, building a project and developing skills in collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.

Mentors are assigned to a team and support them from start to finish.

Mentors act as guides, facilitators, and role models.

You are not expected to lecture or formally teach content. Your role is to support students as they learn, work, and grow.

• Supporting a small team of students throughout the full program
• Helping students stay organized, focused, and on track with their project
• Encouraging participation, collaboration, and accountability
• Providing feedback during team work sessions
• Helping students think through problems rather than solving them for them
• Supporting preparation for the final presentation

Consistency and presence matter more than technical expertise.

• College students (freshmen through seniors), preferably in technology, business, engineering, or related fields
• Early-career professionals interested in mentorship and leadership development
• Comfortable working with middle and high school students
• Reliable, consistent, and able to commit to the full program

You do not need to be an expert in every topic. You need to be engaged, patient, and willing to guide.

• 8-week program
• Weekly Saturday sessions (in person)
• Approximately 2 to 3 hours per session
• Participation in the final presentation event

Mentors are expected to attend consistently. Students benefit most when mentors are present and engaged each week.

This is a practical, real-world leadership experience, not just a volunteer role.

The program concludes with a final presentation event.
