Carlos Rivera was born and raised in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, where he developed a strong work ethic early in life and gained firsthand exposure to both the challenges and resilience that define underserved communities.
With more than three decades of professional experience, Carlos has built a successful career across manufacturing, packaging, logistics, and real estate. He developed his expertise through hands-on experience, earning a reputation for reliability, strong client relationships, and consistent results. He has managed national accounts, led operational improvements, and contributed to the implementation of enterprise systems that improved efficiency and communication.
He was recognized as Top Salesperson of the Year in 2025 and has generated over $15 million in new business during his tenure at Wertheimer Box Corporation. In parallel, Carlos has spent over 20 years as a real estate professional, helping clients navigate one of the most important financial decisions of their lives with a focus on trust, service, and long-term relationships.
Beyond his professional work, Carlos is deeply committed to giving back. He has volunteered with Make-A-Wish Foundation for over a decade and previously served as a board member for the Chicago Youth Boxing Club.
Carlos's involvement with Ctrl Shift is rooted in his own life experience. Having built a successful career without following a traditional academic path, he understands how far discipline, consistency, and real-world learning can take someone, and how much faster that progress can happen with the right exposure early on.
He believes many young people in communities like Little Village are capable of far more than what they currently see around them. Through Ctrl Shift, Carlos is committed to helping students gain access to technology, mentorship, and practical skills that expand their options and accelerate their growth. He is especially passionate about showing that success is not limited to a single path, and that with the right mindset and support, those paths can lead just as far.
